Since 2006, First Presbyterian Church of Auburn has hosted an Easter Prayer Vigil to create a time for prayer and meditation between Good Friday's evening service and Easter morning's sunrise. During the Vigil, at least one person is in the chapel at all times. While we give ourselves to the power of stillness, we remember the sacrifice Christ gave to all humankind, and we pray the prayers of our hearts. Members and friends of First Presbyterian Church share prayer requests on special cards. Vigil participants read these prayer requests and pray along. We carry, in prayer, our hopes and sorrows and the hopes and sorrows of others. We provide additional resources to assist Vigil participants in their time of prayer.
Now, in 2020, the Vigil has moved online. We encourage you to use your Bible and prayer books, and we will post in digital format many other resources typically found in the chapel during the Vigil. If you would like to join us in prayer, please sign up here to pray at home in any way that feels right to you. If you feel so moved, please fill out a prayer request card by clicking here.
