Easter Prayer Vigil
Since 2006, First Presbyterian Church of Auburn has hosted an Easter Prayer Vigil to create a time for prayer and meditation between Good Friday's evening service and Easter morning's sunrise. During the Vigil, at least one person is praying at all times. While we give ourselves to the power of stillness, we remember the sacrifice Christ gave to all humankind, and we pray the prayers of our hearts. Members and friends of First Presbyterian Church share prayer requests on special cards available at the church and collected in our offering plates during Lent. Virtual vigil participants may submit prayer requests online by using this link. During the vigil, participants praying from home can use this link to read prayer requests and pray along. We carry in prayer our hopes and sorrows, and the hopes and sorrows of others.

In 2023, the Vigil will be held in the chapel between 6AM and 9PM and virtually between 9PM and 6AM. If you plan to join the vigil online, we encourage you to use your Bible and prayer books, as well as additional resources like those placed in the chapel during the Vigil that can be found online at this link to assist you in your time of prayer. If you would like to help us pray without ceasing between Good Friday evening and Easter Sunday morning, in any way that feels right to you, please use this link to sign up to pray at home or use this link to sign up to pray in the chapel.
